BURNING
All candles have a memory, so it’s so important to burn them correctly as this will extend their lifetime and provide the best possible fragrance appearance. TO GET THE BEST FROM YOUR CANDLE, it is important that your first burn is between 2 to 4 hours or until the entire surface is fluid. For future burns, burn your candle for 1 to 2 hours at a time allowing the wax to melt to the edge of the vessel; this will create a good memory pattern for subsequent burns and avoid tunneling. Light your candle away from drafts or fans as this can cause sooting and uneven burning. Do not let your candle burn fully down to the base of the glass, please extinguish with at least 5mm of wax left.
WICK CARE
Ensure the wick is always trimmed to 5mm before re-lighting to prevent sooting and smoking and to enable a steady and even burn. Do this when your wax has set. Always ensure that your wick is upright. If it is leaning over it could result in an uneven burn and discoursed wax from deposits. Burning your candle for longer than four hours can cause your wick to move. Keep the wax pool free from any wax trimmings.
APPEARANCE
If there are any air bubbles at the side of the glass, this is a completely natural feature common in hand poured candles. It is caused by the shrinkage as the wax cools inside the glass and in no way affects the burning experience. Your candle will still smell amazing and burn beautifully.
SAFETY
Ensure that your candle is placed on a flat, heatproof surface avoiding any draughts. Do not place your candle on or near any product that might be sensitive to heat.
Keep out of reach of children and never leave a lit candle unattended.
STORAGE
Please store your candles away from direct sunlight and dust which can dull its scent. Condensation on the top of your candle means it has been stored for too long or incorrectly and just needs wiping before lighting. The fragrance of your candle will be affected if stored for a long period of time so be sure to light it and enjoy it sooner than later!
REPURPOSING AND RECYCLING
Your glass vessel can be cleaned out and reused for many things such as a flower posy, pens, makeup brushes or placed in your home recycling bin. Simply spoon out and dispose of the leftover wax, the wash the glass with warm soapy water.
